Mount Austin Public School has a Student Welfare Worker funded by the School Resource Allocation. The service is of a voluntary nature and aims to assist families and students within the wider school community. The role of the Student Welfare Worker is provide links to other established external provider networks such as housing, health, counselling and respite services as well as working in combination with the school counsellor to provide support to individual students and families. This program is endorsed and has the support of the P&C and is of no cost to the parents and caregivers.
